Reaching New Communities

Our mission at Good Bowls is to make sure that everyone has access to nutritious and delicious food regardless of income or where they live. That’s why we’re particularly excited to have teamed up with two new partners this fall to help us reach even more people. We now work with ABC2NC in Halifax County and with UNC’s ACT Team to distribute meals through the Wake Heat-and-Eat program.

Chester Williams runs ABC2NC in Enfield, NC and for the past few years he has been helping people in the community with food security, health care, and educational opportunities. He is currently re-purposing the old elementary school to be a community center and kitchen. Every month we drop off a van load of Good Bowls to his ever-improving community center and Chester’s volunteers head out to the community with Good Bowls in hand to help ensure everyone has a healthy and delicious meal when they need one.

We have also joined with UNC’s ACT Team that is operating out of the Wake County Community Services building in Raleigh. When the ACT Team was going out to see clients earlier in the year they noticed that often time some didn’t have healthy food readily available in their homes. So they got in touch with us about getting a supply of healthy, frozen meals and now we deliver to them weekly and their team members are able to make home visits with a handful of Good Bowls in tow.

There are so many segments of the North Carolina population that don’t have easy access to healthy food for one reason or another. We are regularly adding new community partners, and bit by bit we are helping to make sure that everyone has access to nutritious and delicious food. So if your organization is looking for a supply of healthy meals or you know of a new partner we can work with to access a new section of the local population, give us a call, we’d love to hear your ideas.
