Meet the partners helping us accomplish our missions every day.

Healthy Opportunities Pilot

Good Bowls is a Human Services Organization for the Cape Fear Healthy Opportunities Pilot. As part of the program, eligible Medicaid patients receive non-medical interventions in hopes of achieving better long term health outcomes.

For our part in the HOP program, Good Bowls delivers a healthy meal box of 14 Good Bowls to clients every week. We are currently operating this program in 6 counties in the Cape Fear Region of North Carolina.

We’re grateful to be part of this pilot since it allows us to work towards our goal of ensuring that everyone has access to healthy delicious food regardless of income or where they live.

UNC Health

UNC Advanced Care at Home was looking for a meal solution that would provide their patients with an easy-to-prepare meal that was not just delicious but also a balanced, nutrient dense, healthy meal. Good Bowls were a great fit!

The staff at UNC Health found that Good Bowls’ balance of whole grains, roasted vegetables, protein, and healthy oils was ideal for the nutritional needs of their recovering patients. Also since there are now 14 Good Bowls flavors, patients love the variety and are certain to find Bowls that meet their tastes.

The Good Bowls mission is to make sure everyone has access to healthy food and UNC Advanced Care at home is now providing their patients with healthy Good Bowls when they need it most - during recovery. This is truly food as medicine.

 The Produce Box:

The Produce Box started in 2007 as a way to make it easy and convenient for North Carolina residents to support local farms. Now they deliver over 5 million pounds of local NC produce in their boxes across the whole states. You can now have Good Bowls included in your weekly produce box delivery. With this recent partnership, Produce Box customers can now get not only fresh local produce, but healthy frozen meals made from locally sourced ingredients. This partnership let Good Bowls reach customers in Charlotte, Winston Salem, Greensboro, Raleigh, Wake Forest, and Wilmington.

Ripe Revival

At Ripe Revival the mission is revive communities through food. They are working to support the local food economy by connecting local farmer and families, distribute weekly food boxes with local produce, and recently they run a mobile pay-what-you-can market to underserved areas in rural NC. Ripe Revival is now offering Good Bowls in their mobile market, which helps us both in our missions to make sure that everyone has access to healthy, delicious food regardless of income.

The folks of Nash, Edgecombe, and surrounding counties can now also get Good Bowls included in their weekly produce box deliveries too. This helps both companies in our efforts to build the local food economy. For every bowl that goes out in a food box to the Twin County region we’re supporting NC farmers and creating local jobs for local food producers

 Nourish NC:

Good Bowls has partnered with Nourish NC whose motto is feeding children; fueling the future. Their mission is to feed food insecure children in New Hanover County and they have now added Good Bowls to their menu. Kids or their parents can take home some healthy frozen Good Bowls, keep them in the freezer for months if needed, and after just a few minutes in the microwave they have a delicious healthy meal any time of the day. One of the founding goals of Good Bowls was to find a way to provide local kids and families a healthy meal with a long shelf life and so we’re excited to partner with Nourish NC and get our bowls in so many hands throughout eastern NC.

 Weaver Street Market:

In addition to carrying Good Bowls in their 4 co-op locations, Weaver Street Market also prepares all of our Bowls at The Food House in Hillsborough, NC. Over the years they have built relationships with hundreds of farmers and producers throughout the state. By partnering with Weaver Street we are able to source most of our ingredients here within the state of North Carolina and we’re busy adding new farms and sources all the time. By keeping production right here in the Triangle we’re able to work together to build the local food economy with every Bowl.
