Farm to Fork at Fearrington

For the past 15 years, the Farm to Fork Picnic (a fundraiser for the Center for Environmental Farming Systems) has brought great chefs, farmers, producers, brewers, and artisans together for a delicious and educational afternoon in the Triangle. Farm to Fork 2023 took place on Sunday June 4th at the Fearrington Village in Chapel Hill.

For this year’s event, Good Bowls teamed up with Weaver Street Market’s Executive Chef, Glenn Lozuke, and our local farm partner, Working Landscapes/ByWay Foods, to join the festivities. We debuted two of our new recipes, a Farmhouse Mac ‘n Cheese and a Carolina Chicken BBQ and also served up one of our long-time classics, veggie curry.

Throughout the event we enjoyed talking with hundreds of guests about how we’ve been working to help build the local food system and create healthy delicious food for the past few years. Our partnership with Working Landscapes/ByWay Foods, as well as dozens of other farms, and with Weaver Street Market allows us to source a variety of produce from throughout the state and produce 14 different recipes in the Weaver Street Market Food House in Hillsborough. These healthy and delicious Bowls are distributed throughout the state to co-ops, schools, workplaces, federal meal programs, hospitals, and countless other locations.

Of course when we weren’t working at the booth and serving up the now legendary Farmhouse Mac ‘n Cheese we were able to wander around the grounds at Fearrington and sample all of the delicious creations offered from some the most innovative chefs and artisans in the area today. If you weren’t able to make it this year, be sure to get your tickets to Farm to Fork 2024 early and look for our booth.
