Good food is the essence of good health and well-being. Everyone deserves access to healthy, good-tasting, and affordable food. At the same time, the farmers that produce our food are struggling to make a sustainable living. That’s why we launched Equiti Foods and Good Bowls.

We’ve learned that it’s hard to make healthy, locally-produced food affordable. That’s why we created Equiti Foods to make Good Bowls.  First we support our local food system by building a network of local producers and locally sourcing as many ingredients as we can.  Second, we believe that everybody should have access to nutritious food. The Good Bowls Nutrition Outreach team is constantly working to provide cost subsidized Good Bowls to communities that might not otherwise have easy access to nutritious options.

Good Bowls recently received a USDA Local Food Promotion Program (LFPP) grant. Since our beginning we’ve been working with local farmers and producers, and now with the help of this grant, over the next three years we’ll continue on our mission and add new farmers and new producers to our network and grow the regional food infrastructure even more.

The most popular initiative for our food equity mission is our Pay-It-Forward campaign. During our bi-monthly campaign, we collect online donations and then work with a locally owned partner restaurant to cook healthy, delicious meals for families in need. Read more about our Pay-It-Forward Program. Or Donate a meal today while you’re here!

Good Bowls also uses frozen-food vending machines to give workers in rural worksites access to healthy food during the day. We recently received funding from the NIH in the form of an STTR Phase II grant to expand our vending machine program to even more worksites throughout the state.

With every Good Bowl made and sold we are furthering our mission of supporting our local food system and promoting food equity in the community. You can help us on that mission today!
